The Film

Immediately after the June 23, 2016 flooding in WV, several individuals committed and dedicated to the recovery of White Sulphur Springs after the devastating loss of life and property, partnered to form Homes for White Sulphur Springs (a 501 (c) (3)).  In addition to providing funds for repairs on existing houses, they built a new residential neighborhood aptly named Hope Village. Hope Village is a new neighborhood of 36 homes built on land donated by the City of White Sulphur Springs and out of harm’s way.  Homes for White Sulphur Springs, a successful collaboration of public, private, nonprofit and philanthropic partners, not only built Hope Village, but expanded the mission to repair homes and build homes in other areas of West Virginia damaged by the Flood. They created three beautiful new Community Parks for the City of White Sulphur Springs, formed a rental renewal program with United Way of the Greenbrier Valley and Main Street White Sulphur Springs, thereby creating a revenue stream and legacy for charitable efforts to benefit the economy of White Sulphur Springs.  Homes for White Sulphur Springs is especially grateful for the faith-based organizations (Mennonite Disaster Service, Storm Aid, Appalachia Service Project, Christian Public Service, and many more) for bringing thousands of volunteers to make the dream of new homes a reality.
